Jericho "Jerry" Gwynn, FBI

Jericho Gwynn was an enthusiastic, energetic agent in the FBI, who worked out of
New York. The high stress lifestyle of a law enforcement position in that city
may have worn away at many others, but he seemed to thrive on it. Despite
getting married before he even graduated from college and finished his training,
he managed to find time for his wife even with the regular fourteen hour days.

Ever the foresightful one, Jerry had his future planned out. He invested his
savings smartly, and was prepared to retire after finishing out a carreer he
enjoyed immensely.

However, fate was not kind to him. On one operation [details are still
classified] bad intel led a team of FBI agents into what can only be called an
ambush. His partner was killed, and Jerry himself took three bullets in the
back. Two punctured a lung, and the third only barely missed severing his spine.
Bleeding profusely, and apparently unconscious, he managed to survive when the
team's attackers left him for dead rather than kill him. Paramedics arrived in
time to save him.

A battle for life in the hospitol led to a long medical leave, which started off
an even longer debate with his wife. She wanted him to quit, he took his injury
as a sign that he must keep working for the Bureau. Rather than risk losing him
to some whacko with a gun, she threatened to leave before that. Jerry proposed a
compromise, which, after some hemming and hawing, his wife accepted.

He transferred departments, to a lower profile, less risky area, and the Gwynns
ended up in quiet Madison, Wisconsin.

He uses his gun less, now, and the fourteen hour days are a bit less common.
It's not quite as invigorating as it once was, but Jerry's wife is happy. So
he's pretty happy, too.
